Create process geometry

Command

The Process geometry command is the collection to create and edit the process geometry on the workpiece. It opens the definition panel with the selector to define the type of process geometry. Each of them might have its own specific additional (sub-) commands and options.

When the panel does not appear, open the pie menu in the 3D space and press the command button.

Process geometry type

In the left part of the top row the type of process geometry is selected, that is going to be created (or edited). The row is a mixture of global geometrical selectors and technology specific process geometry creators.

While working in the OLP workbench, the exact content of the type selector row may vary, depending on the currently effective technology.

General commands and options

At the right side of the top row some additional general commands or options are displayed.

The Operation creation is a switch button that is only displayed when the panel has been opened in the OLP workbench.

With the switch turned on not only the process geometry is computed, also an operation, i.e. a toolpath, will be generated automatically on the new process geometry without any further interaction of the user. The toolpath is being computed with the attributes and parameter values as they are set in the programming defaults for the applied technology. These programming defaults include the possibility to run certain additional (custom) scripts while computing the toolpaths and program.

The option Immediate autonomous optimization for new operations works in combination with the Operation creation. It defines if and which autonomous programming methods may be applied while computing the new operation.

OptionDescription
No optimizationThe operation is computed. No further autonomous optimization will be executed.
Full autonomous optimizationAfter the initial toolpath has been computed, all autonomous optimization methods will be run.
Automatic process path optimizationThe in-process part of the operation, the toolpath, will be optimized.
Automatic link path generationOptimize the motion, the link between operations to move collision free.

With the Execution button the creation of the process geometry will be permanent. In some cases the process geometry is created automatically after selection the input on the workpiece. In that case the execution does not need to be run.

A shortcut for the Execution button is using the

key on the keyboard.

In the 3D View an additional pie menu is present.

When working in an OLP project and saving that project, the new created and modified process geometry will be saved in the workpiece .cenwpc file of the project.
