Process simulation object properties

Dashboard
The Process simulation objects command opens its dashboard.
The dashboard basically has four sections of information and / or interaction, separated by split lines. At the right side upper, a list of available (i.e. licensed) manufacturing processes that can be simulated is displayed. Below that, the attributes of the selected process model are shown, sorted in separated containers. At the left side of the dashboard the process simulation objects are listed. On top, above the separation line, the default settings can be defined for the active, selected process model. Below, all created PSO on the active workpiece is listed.
Process models
All licensed process models are displayed in the top row. The highlighted icon indicates the current process model of which its attributes are displayed in the below section, like in the example below.
Each process model has two attribute containers. The Model data container contains the attributes that are applied to generate the process simulation object. Each process model will be calculated on a specific geometrical element: i.e point, contour or surface. Therefore each process model will have its own specific model data attributes the generate the process simulation object.
The Physical parameters container contains all the physical parameters of the process model that can be simulated. For each of these parameters the initial value can be set. This is the starting value of the parameter when the process simulation object is generated.
Defaults
![]()
The Defaults is the section of the dashboard where for each available process model the default values of the process model parameters are set. Those default values will be applied when a new process simulation object is generated.
Process simulation objects

Below the Defaults, the list of created process simulation objects is displayed. It contains all the objects within the workpiece, regardless of which process model has been assigned to the object.
Picking the name field of the process simulation object enables the editor to modify the name when needed.
The selected object is highlighted. Of this object the parameters are displayed of the active process model in the top row of the dashboard. When multiple process models have been assigned to the object, for each of these models the parameters can be viewed and modified. The only restriction here is that the object can only have assigned different process models that have the same model data type.
Hovering over the object or selecting one here cross-highlights the corresponding object in the 3D View and vice verse.
On the object also a Pie menu is present.
