Workbench Workpiece Preparation
Designing a workpiece typically is the process of importing 3D (CAD) geometry and defining the additional attributes such as adapters and the different production state shapes. Finally the whole package is saved as a workpiece type document.
The function toolbar, that is placed at the left side in the 3D View, has a group of commands to create the workpiece. Stepping top down in this toolbar is a guide line to create a new workpiece with all its features from scratch.

The dashboard toolbar, that is placed at the right side in the 3D View, includes a command for advanced editing of the workpiece.

Apart from the functionality in the toolbars to build and maintain workpieces in different, but predefined steps, there is a special method to create workpieces in one single step directly from the external CAD data.
