Edit and update

There are several ways to modify the fixture design. This can be done directly on the 3D geometry or with the parameters in the fixture properties dashboard. The main difference is that in the 3D space the plates can be modified individually, where as in the properties dashboard, the entered change applies to all plates, to the whole fixture.

Changes that are made in 3D to either the base plate or a support plate usually require an update, a recomputation of the fixture. A setting is available where can be decided if this recomputation is done automatically or manually triggered by the user.

The main difference is that an automatic update is executed after each modification, where with the manual update multiple modifications can be done and collected before the recomputation of the fixture.

In the top left corner of the 3D space, a large command button is displayed. The button knows two different states:

After modifying anything on the fixture that requires a manual update, this button colors orange to indicate. Pressing it will execute the recomputation.

Fixture

The height and orientation of the fixture are controlled by the manipulator. Thus; repositioning it to modify the fixture global size.

With the pie menu on the manipulator’s center, other global changes can be made.
