Import process geometry
With the Import command process geometry from external sources can be loaded into the workpiece. A file browser opens to select the import file.
The second row is a selector of the specific import operator.
Importing process geometry from external sources is a customer specific activity. Because of processing various kinds of information about the process geometry, the different data in which that can be stored and the format of that data, it is almost impossible to enable one generic function for the import. Therefore the import functionality is based upon customizable Python scripts to create that specific import that is required. The Workpiece Preparation workbench includes one simplified generic importer for point process geometry as a sample for understanding the methodology.
