Welding path quality evaluation
Purpose
Learn how the quality of the welding path is being analyzed and displayed.
Load the project Arcwelding_BasicProgrammed.cendoc from the Projects folder of this tutorial library.
Steps
1. Welding path quality
1.1 Open the Evaluation criteria
Open the Active program dashboard and pick the Toolpath quality tab. Open the Evaluation criteria container. Here you will find all criteria that are applied to evaluate and measure the welding path quality.
Evaluation criteria
1.2 Display welding path incidents
The result of the analysis — called incidents in case of not fulfilling the criteria — can be displayed. In the top row for each criterion this can be turned on or off. In case of a breach, the effect is immediately shown in color on the incident icon and in the program flow chart.

1.3 Show collision incidents
To display collision incidents, the collision analysis in the simulation toolbar needs to be switched on.

1.4 Enable or disable individual criteria
Individual criteria can be turned off or on to be part of the welding path quality analysis. Only the Reachability and Singularity analysis are activated by default and always executed — they cannot be turned off.

1.5 Activate quality display on the 3D welding path
In the Display filters panel, open the Toolpath and operations container. Activate the quality display on the 3D welding path. This will color the welding path elements according to their incident level.

1.6 Change the incident display level
There are three levels to display incidents — from showing all incident levels up to showing only failure incidents. When multiple incidents have been detected, the color of the highest level is applied to indicate.

1.7 Modify criteria range dynamically
Change the criteria values of the Work angle deviation with the sliders or by entering new values and notice that the analysis is executed dynamically. The incidents are reported immediately.

1.8 View incidents in the Toolpath dashboard
Open the Toolpath dashboard. Notice that the incidents are displayed here as well. Turning one on or off is applied in both dashboards. Hovering over an incident shows a small window with the incident information — also available on the 3D welding path element.
