Change continuous welding into stitch welding

Purpose

Learn to apply different welding strategies.

Load the project Arcwelding_Basic.cenprj from the Projects folder of this tutorial library.

Steps

1. Program a welding operation

1.1 Program the welding operation on existing process geometry

Change to Program toolpath and program the welding operation on the existing process geometry, i.e. seam definition.

2. Stitch welding

2.1 Change welding method from Continuous to Stitch

Open the Active program dashboard. Select the Welding tab and open the Welding method container. Change the welding method from Continuous to Stitch.

2.2 Modify number of stitches and seam length

Change the number of stitches (seams) and the seam length and run a simulation to notice the effects.

2.3 Modify gap motion parameters

Change the parameters that define the motion over the gap between two seams and run a simulation to notice the effects.
