Build the fixture assembly with additional components, like clamps
Purpose
Learn how to complete a fixture assembly with additional library components such as clamps, and mount them either on a tower or directly on a support plate.

Steps
1. Clamp mounted on a tower
1.1 Add a clamp from the component library
Open the Component library dashboard and select the clamp you want to use. Drag and drop it into the 3D scene, or use Add existing objects from the pie menu.

1.2 Position the clamp at the workpiece
Switch to Drag & snap mode. Select the clamp and use Picking on the manipulator center to place it at the target position on the workpiece. Then return to Normal mode.

1.3 Add a tower below the clamp
Attach the manipulator to the clamp mechanical adapter. If the adapter is not visible, open Display filters and enable adapter display. Then run Add tower from the pie menu.
In the parameter panel, make sure With top plate is enabled. Click in the 3D scene to create the tower.

1.4 Create fixing holes in the tower top plate
Attach the manipulator to the centers of the clamp screws and create holes in the tower top plate. If needed, temporarily hide the clamp in Product structure to inspect the result.

2. Clamp mounted on support plate
2.1 Add a clamp from the component library
Open the Component library dashboard and choose a clamp. Drag and drop it into the 3D scene, or use Add existing objects from the pie menu.

2.2 Position the clamp over a support plate
Switch to Drag & snap mode and place the clamp with Picking at the target position on the workpiece, above a support plate. Then return to Normal mode.

2.3 Resize the support plate flange
Resize the support plate flange so the clamp can be mounted correctly.

2.4 Create fixing holes in the support plate
Place the manipulator at the centers of the clamp screws and create holes in the support plate. If needed, temporarily hide the clamp in Product structure to verify the hole positions.
