Loading NC program
Loading an NC program is a key step in the Shopfloor Assistant workflow, bringing toolpaths to life in the 3D Viewer. This feature allows users to import SINUMERIK ONE NC files, visualize toolpaths, and prepare the program for editing, transformation, and validation — whether a full machining scenario (machine body, fixtures, and workpiece) has been loaded.
When a machine model is present, the NC program links the digital machining setup with the actual toolpath logic, enabling you to inspect the process by positioning the machine at the desired point directly within the application.
📘How to Load an NC Program:
- Step 1: Navigate to the “Load Program” button and click it - located in the left panel of the Shopfloor Assistant user interface.
- Step 2: Select your NC file - supported format: SINUMERIK ONE NC (.XML structured NC file format)
- Step 3: Confirm the selection - the system will parse the file and begin loading the NC program.
-
Step 4: Wait for the program to initialize
-
The NC Editor becomes active, displaying the full program line-by-line.
-
The 3D Viewer shows the toolpath geometry.
NC Program with Machine Geometry – shows the NC program loaded along with the machine, fixtures, and workpiece.
NC Program without Machine Geometry – shows the NC program loaded independently, without any machine model.
🎯 Operator insights
- Each NC point is visually represented in the 3D Viewer, allowing intuitive two-way selection and accurate editing directly to or from the NC Editor panel.
- NC programs can be loaded and worked on independently, even without a machine model from a .cenpkg project.
- Use the 3D Viewer to visually inspect and verify toolpaths before making edits, ensuring accuracy and safety.
