The measurement mode allows to take a measurement in between two points of the mesh in 3D. To use it select the measurement mode and then click in two points over the 3D mesh. The measurement will be persistent until the measurement mode is exit.

Most commands are still available during measurement mode however, is recommended to disable it when is not needed, to avoid visual distractions.
