Verify the Manufacturing Setup
Purpose
Set up and verify the laser cutting project environment so the machine, fixture, and workpiece match the intended production setup.
Steps
- Switch to layout builder workbench
- Create a new document (optional)
If the fixture layout document saved in previous session is already open, skip this step.

- Load the fixture assembly from component library (optional)
If the fixture layout document saved in previous session is already open, skip this step. Otherwise, load the FixtureAssembly.cenlay from the Sheet Metal Laser Cutting tutorial package.

- Load the workpiece from component library and connect it to the fixture
Load the B_Pillar.cenwpc workpiece from the Sheet Metal Laser Cutting tutorial package and connect it to the fixture using drag and snap.

- Load the laser machine from component library
Load the Prima LaserNext 1530 from the Sheet Metal Laser Cutting tutorial package.

- Manage machine layers
Use layers to show or hide machine parts as needed for setup and review.

- Place the fixture on the turntable
Place the fixture with workpiece on the machine turntable using drag and snap.

- Switch to offline programming workbench
- Define collision groups
Create collision groups to detect potential collisions between the laser head, fixture, and workpiece during simulation.

- Calibrate the workpiece on the machine
Import the Calibration.pts from the Sheet Metal Laser Cutting tutorial package and perform a 3-point calibration to align the workpiece with the machine coordinate system.

- Save the project
Save the document as a project (
.cenprj) with an appropriate name.
