Create the Cutting Operations

Purpose

Define in FASTSUITE Edition 2 a complete and structured set of cutting operations as the basis for simulation and optimization.

Steps


  1. Switch to the offline programming workbench
  1. Load the verified setup laser cutting project

Load B_Pillar_Manufacturing_Setup.cenprj from the Sheet Metal Laser Cutting tutorial package. The project that already contains the verified machine, fixture, and workpiece setup.

  1. Define cutting contours

Detect automatically the cutting process geometries for the inside and the outside contours and manually optimize for them the cutting direction.

  1. Create cutting operations

Select the cutting process geometries and sequence them, then create the corresponding cutting operations. Use the Sequencing panel to adjust the operation order and transitions to improve process flow.

Output

A complete set of cutting operations ready for simulation and quality review.
